Pig Balm "An All-Purpose Oink-ment!"

$15.00

There's a long tradition of keeping a good salve on hand — something made from what the land offers, mixed by hand, and trusted for whatever the day brings. Pig Balm started the way the best things do: out of necessity. When we got our first pigs, one came down with a rash. We made an ointment from the beneficial plants growing around the property — plantain, comfrey, yarrow, self-heal, mullein, chickweed, lemon balm — and it cleared right up. We had some left over, started using it ourselves, and found it worked just as well on scratches, cuts, bug bites, and burns. Now it lives in our house permanently. We haven't stopped making it since.

The formula hasn't changed much: those same seven botanicals, slow-infused in organic olive and coconut oil, set with locally sourced beeswax and a blend of organic essential oils. Every plant was foraged or grown on our 100-acre property in the hills of upstate New York. The result is a dense, hardworking balm that earns its place on the shelf.

All Purpose 'Oink-ment.' Made in small batches on our farm in Coventry, NY. No fillers, no synthetics.
