Ghost Pipe Tincture

Ghost Pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is one of the stranger plants you'll encounter in the deep forest — pale, waxy, entirely without chlorophyll, drawing its life from the mycorrhizal networks beneath the soil rather than from the sun. It has a long history of use in North American folk herbalism, valued by various Indigenous traditions and passed down through generations of plant people for its calming, grounding qualities. We harvest Ghost Pipe ourselves, by hand, from the forested hollows of our property in Coventry, NY. We never take more than a third of any patch we find, leaving the majority of each colony intact to fruit, spread, and return. Because Ghost Pipe is a slow-growing, ecologically sensitive plant, we keep our harvest small and our batches limited. This tincture is made when the plant is ready, not on our schedule.
